You just got your windows tinted — now what? Here's how to keep your tint looking flawless for years, including what to avoid right after installation.
You just had your windows tinted at Tintxpress — now you want to keep that flawless, defect-free finish looking great for years. A little care goes a long way, especially in the first few days.
Give the film time to cure. Right after installation, you may notice small water pockets or slight haziness. That's normal — the film is still drying. It usually clears up within a few days to a couple of weeks depending on weather and sunlight. Don't touch, press, or poke at it during this time.
Wait to roll your windows down. For the first few days after tinting, keep your windows rolled up so the film can fully adhere to the glass. Rolling them down too soon can catch the edge and lift the film.
Clean gently. When it's time to clean, use a soft microfiber cloth and a mild, ammonia-free glass cleaner. Ammonia can degrade the tint over time, so check your cleaner's label. Don't use abrasive sponges or rough towels.
Watch for seatbelt bumps. Be mindful of seatbelts and doors slamming against freshly tinted windows — a hard tap can ding the film before it's fully set.
With simple care, your computer-cut tint from Tintxpress will look clean and perform well for years. Have questions after your install? Call us at (954) 937-9308 — we're happy to help.
